ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Lancashire, England where I lived until the age of twenty-two. Then,  wielding my two suitcases, and with two hundred dollars in my pocket, I boarded a plane for Canada, and my great new life as a Nanny. A job I was to do for four years.

Canadian life started in Calgary where I lived for eight years. It wasn't the weather that kept me there, renowned as it is for its cold and snowy winters.

I remember stepping out of the airport in October 1983 and the temperature was minus thirty-eight degrees. My nose hairs instantly froze!

It was not until I came for a holiday to Vancouver Island a few years later that I realised what I had been missing. I packed my bags and relocated to the lovely seaside town aptly named, Sidney by the sea. That was in 1991 and the rest, as they say, is history.
